Ground+Co

A double feature! We helped registered ACNC charity The Underground Collaborative overhaul both their own website and that of their social enterprise employment café, Ground+Co.

The Underground Collaborative’s mission is to provide employment to educate and empower women and young people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in WA. They do that through various initiatives, the most significant of which is their permanent employment café, Ground+Co, nestled in the Perth Cultural Centre within the State Library of WA.

Their old websites were a little chaotic with the best of intentions – built entirely by their exceptional founder Katie Liew on a shoestring budget, both sites were dearly in need of an overhaul after many years of neglect. We worked directly with Katie to take her amazing vision and help her give it the digital home it deserves, including incorporating ethically sourced indigenous artwork from the organisation’s greeting card initiative throughout the website and creating a dedicated impact page to help convey the importance of the work the organisation is committed to.

We also helped Katie and the board identify and communicate the many ways in which partners, volunteers and donors can engage with the organisation, and integrated with their existing donor platform, Donorbox, for their overhauled donations and fundraising page.

The Ground+Co website goes even further toward helping reduce admin burden by streamlining ordering for group bookings, catering orders and bulk coffee orders, freeing up time and resources to focus on training those going through The Underground Collaborative’s employment program.

You can support the amazing work Katie and her team are doing to overcome the cycle of homelessness by purchasing a coffee from Ground+Co, donating via their website, or becoming a corporate partner.

What they think...

“House Digital are leading the way in Accelerating Women. They dedicate a ‘core offering’ in providing pro bono support for non-profits, particularly those that are women-led and also support women as a part of their own organisation, like us at The Underground Collaborative.

As a very small NFP whose profits are 100% reinvested into our mission, we have not had sufficient funds to properly rebuild our website; House Digital have very generously donated their time, expertise, skills and support to this process for The Underground Collaborate, so we can better focus on empowering, educating and employing women who have experienced family and domestic violence.

Without this important piece of work from House Digital, TUC would not be able to achieve the same level of support for the women who are facing barriers to employment that come through our program.

We love our new websites, and have received nothing but positive feedback since launching them.”
